September - It's about time to update!

Sorry to all of you who have been 'attempting' to keep up with the blog. I say attempting, because I have made it impossible to do with my lack-of-updates. Kelsey is going to be 3 months old next week! I can't believe she is that old already, but I am happy to say it seems like we've actually been blessed with her longer than only 3 months. She's SO much fun!! We really are blessed with a happy, healthy baby. There aren't many times when she isn't smiling away! The first time she smiled at us it just melted our hearts, and it continues to do so each day. When I get over to the babysitters and she hears my voice, she'll turn her head and look at me with a big grin! It's awesome! I didn't think she would be so alert and able to differientiate voices at such a young age, but this girl has it going on! If you haven't met her yet or had the opportunity to see that cute face, be prepared to tear up!! :)

She's also soooo strong! She sits by herself in her Bumbo chair (which she LOVES!) and just looks around the room. I always put her on the kitchen island when I am cooking so she can learn culinary skills at a young age! haha She is very into toys that are colorful and make noises. Her 'jungle', as John and I call it, is one of her favorite past times. When she gets done eating we lay her under her jungle and let her swat away at the toys hanging overhead. Kelsey also loves watching Bailey walk around the room. I think that is one of the things in her life she hasn't quite figured out! Mommy and Daddy walk around with two legs and speak using words, this dog walks around on 4 legs and barks all the time! :)

Kelsey is also VERY vocal! She loves to coo and talk when you hold her. Funny story - my dad was visiting this weekend and while we were driving he asked "So when is Kelsey going to sleep in her own room?" and before I could answer "When she sleeps through the night" she let out a big "Nooooooooo". I swear she already understands what we are saying, she just acts like she has no idea! Babies are smarter than they look!

She's up to eating about 5-6 ounces each feeding and was sleeping til about 3:30 every morning. This last weekend however, I started supplementing with formula at night and she has slept through the night 2 days in a row. I'm praying this will continue!! She's a big girl now - weighing 13 lbs 2 oz last visit (about a month ago). She's also long - 24 inches!

Her major dislike in life is her car seat. She isn't one of those babies who enjoy car rides. :( When we get in, if she's not freshly changed and fed, it becomes a cry fest. Well I say that, but it probably only happens about 50% of the time. I promise to post pictures and videos within the week. I've been so busy with teaching, my masters class, my hubby, and my baby! It's a fun but exhausting life!
