Kelsey is growing bigger and bigger by the day! We had our friends over this weekend with their brand new 6 pound baby, and Kelsey looked HUGE next to her! She looked like that 19-pound baby that was born a few weeks ago! haha..it was hilarious, and a little depressing at the same time. She really is growing up fast. There's going to be a day when she won't need us to change her diapers, sit up her, and feed her bottles :( It's such a bittersweet thought, because as much as I love her baby stage, I also enjoy interacting with her as she grows. She is so responsive and talkative...and she always has a big smile on her face! It still warms my heart every time she does it! Can't say enough good things about her.
Big update! Kelsey now sleeps in her own room and through the night! woohoo! John and I were laying in bed last night and he told me he missed her in our room :( I love having her close, but I also love sleeping all night! haha She was able to accomplish this task because she became a thumb sucker. Most people look down on this habit while I praise God for it! Anytime she gets worked up she just pops her thumb in her mouth and she settles right down. It's amazing how fast it soothes her. The way I see it -> we can fix the problem later, but for now if it makes her happy, we'll keep the habit around. Plus, how are you supposed to stop a baby from putting their hands in their mouth. It's like 2nd nature. Anything she picks up goes straight to the mouth. I guess it's their way of learning at this stage?!?
Kelsey has also moved up to size 2 diapers and found her toes. She doesn't always grab them, but when she is leaned back, she'll watch them move around and reach out for them. Speaking of that, anything colorful that is in front of her will eventually be grabbed. She's a very inquisitive girl! Lastly - she loves TV!! she'll just sit with us and watch all the characters and colors. It's adorable! I think that's it for this month. She's getting baptized on Sunday at The Loft Church at 9:29. Join us if you can! If you can't make it to the service, please drop by for some lunch!
